FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
302 PM AKDT SAT APR 30 2016

.DISCUSSION...
A MODERATELY UNSTABLE PATTERN WILL CONTINUE WITH ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
SHOWERS INCREASING IN THE AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS AND THE POTENTIAL
FOR ISOLATED WET THUNDERSTORMS. THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH THE
THERMAL TROUGH STRETCHED ALONG THE COAST AND ABUNDANT SUNSHINE IN THE
AREA...THE KUSKOKWIM DELTA HAS THE BEST POTENTIAL TO SEE SOME ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS. ADDITIONALLY BREEZY NORTHEASTERLY WINDS AND MODERATELY
LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE A POTENTIAL CONCERN THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING NEAR THE WESTERN ALASKA RANGE AND IN THE MIDDLE KUSKOKWIM VALLEY.

ON SUNDAY THE THERMAL TROUGH WILL SHIFT INLAND SPREADING THE SLIGHT
CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS OVER A BROADER AREA. HOWEVER WITH THE FAIRLY
MARGINAL INSTABILITY ANY STORMS THAT DO FORM SHOULD BE FEW AND FAR
BETWEEN. ON MONDAY A MORE FOCUSED TROUGH WITH STRONGER INSTABILITY WILL
SET UP OVER THE MIDDLE KUSKOKWIM VALLEY AND NORTHERN BRISTOL BAY AREA
BRINGING A BETTER CHANCE FOR ISOLATED OR POSSIBILITY WIDELY SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS TO THOSE AREAS.
