FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
546 AM MST MON FEB 20 2017

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Elevated fire weather conditions
will occur this afternoon across the eastern plains roughly east of
a line from Cheyenne WY southeast to Lincoln County, CO.
Northwesterly low level winds will gust up to 30 mph this afternoon.
Relative Humidities will get down into the teens, so a few areas
will get close to Red Flag conditions Monday roughly between 11 AM
and 4 PM over the eastern half of the plains. Elsewhere, the other
fire weather concern is in and near the Foothills. West winds will
pick up this morning and could gust over 30 mph. Tonight and into
early morning Tuesday stronger west winds are possible in and near
the Foothills, with gusts to 50 mph possible.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday...Fire Danger will
increase on Tuesday in the Foothills and adjacent Plains due to
increasing wind along with low humidity and well above normal
temperatures. Fire Danger will remain elevated on Wednesday
although winds will not be as strong over the plains. However gusty
winds will continue in the Foothills. By Thursday a cold front and
accompanying weather system will bring colder temperatures along
with snow to the mountains and a chance of precipitation to lower
elevations. Friday will be drier with below normal temperatures.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                     shown in those groups...
