FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
446 AM EDT WED SEP 17 2014

...MAINLY DRY WEATHER INTO SATURDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE REGION THIS MORNING WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY
PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. THERE WILL BE AN INCREASE IN CLOUDS THIS
AFTERNOON OVER NORTHERN SECTIONS WITH THE APPROACH OF A COLD FRONT
FROM SOUTHERN ONTARIO/QUEBEC. THIS FRONT WILL DROP SOUTH ACROSS
THE FORECAST AREA OVERNIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. IT WILL BE
ACCOMPANIED BY A LOT OF CLOUDS...BUT NOT MUCH IN THE WAY OF
PRECIPITATION. EXPECT NOTHING MORE THAN A FEW LIGHT SHOWERS OR
SPRINKLES...MAINLY OVER THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS. DRIER AIR WILL
WORK INTO THE REGION THURSDAY AFTERNOON AS A LARGE HIGH PRESSURE
SYSTEM BUILDS SOUTHEAST INTO THE AREA. THIS HIGH WILL BE OVER THE
NORTH COUNTRY THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. COLD TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT WHEN WIDESPREAD FROST/FREEZE CONDITIONS
ARE POSSIBLE. AS THE HIGH MOVES OFF THE NEW ENGLAND COAST FRIDAY
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY...IT WILL TURN MILDER AND REMAIN MOSTLY DRY.
THERE WILL BE AN INCREASING CHANCE OF SHOWERS BY SUNDAY AS A
FRONTAL SYSTEM MOVES EAST FROM THE GREAT LAKES.
