Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
342 AM CDT Mon Apr 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...

A very dry air mass will result in relative humidities falling below
20% across much of central Illinois this afternoon. Ventilation
rates will be good for smoke dispersion today. However, 10 hour dead
fuels are below 6% across the northern part of the forecast area,
and mainly 7-8% elsewhere. Northwest of the Illinois River,
southeast winds increase to around 10-15 mph toward midday, with
some gusts to near 20. This could cause a few fires to get out of
control, but winds are expected to remain low enough to keep
conditions below red flag criteria.

The dry conditions will continue into Tuesday. After that, a storm
system will approach from the west, and will spread showers and
thunderstorms into central Illinois, as early as late Tuesday
night west of the Illinois River and across the remainder of central
and southeast Illinois on Wednesday.
