Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
318 PM CST Mon Nov 20 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...

.DISCUSSION...

Current humidity ranges between 5-15 percent across portions of
southwest NEB, southeast Panhandle, and the western Sandhills.
Elsewhere, afternoon humidity spans largely between 15 and 25
percent. Gusty west winds prevail across far southwestern NEB and
the eastern Panhandle with gusts up to 30 MPH, elsewhere gusts up
to 20 MPH are common. A Red Flag warning remains in effect until
5 PM MST for fire weather zones 204 and 210. Humidities will
improve during the late afternoon, along with decreasing winds.

Low fire weather concerns will then prevail tomorrow through
Thanksgiving day. Cooler and higher humidity will prevail tomorrow
as a cold front pushes through the area tonight. Temperatures
rebound afterwards with well above seasonable normal values
expected through Friday. However, afternoon humidity is expected
to stay above critical values.
