FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
618 AM PDT SAT JUL 26 2014

.DISCUSSION...

A MID-LEVEL RIDGE BUILDS OVER THE REGION THROUGH SUNDAY AND LINGERS
THROUGH NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL PROMOTE DRYING AND WARMING. EXPECT
DIURNAL WINDS. A THERMAL TROUGH EAST OF THE CASCADES STRENGTHENS
EACH DAY. LOCALLY HIGHER WINDS ARE PROJECTED NEAR THE CASCADE GAPS
DURING EVENING DRAINAGE...BUT SPEEDS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN UNDER
15 MPH. A DEVELOPING SOUTHWEST FLOW WILL BRING SOME MONSOONAL
MOISTURE INTO THE REGION NEXT WEEK. BY WEDNESDAY A SLIGHT CHANCE
OF THUNDERSTORMS ENTERS THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICTS. BY FRIDAY THE
SLIGHT THREAT SPREADS ACROSS THE REGION. AT THIS POINT ANYTHING
THAT MIGHT DEVELOP LOOKS ISOLATED AND UNORGANIZED.

***************************************************************
FORECASTS FOR 20 FOOT WIND SPEEDS (VALLEYS AND RIDGE TOPS) ARE
10 MINUTE AVERAGES REFLECTING RAWS WIND.
