FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH
IDAHO...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
800 AM PDT WED AUG 31 2016

.DISCUSSION...

AN OFFSHORE TROUGH MOVING CLOSER TO THE COAST WILL PROMOTE
A SMALL CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND INCREASINGLY WET THUNDERSTORMS OVER
THE CASCADES TODAY. TO THE EAST...AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL
BRING HIGH BASED SHOWERS AND POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS TO THE CENTRAL
PANHANDLE MOUNTAINS. OTHERWISE REMAINING LOCATIONS SHOULD REMAIN
DRY TODAY. WESTERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON WITH
LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH ACROSS OKANOGAN COUNTY AND PORTIONS
OF THE COLUMBIA BASIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE OFFSHORE TROUGH
WILL CONTINUE MOVING EAST AND SPREAD THE CHANCES OF PRECIPITATION
ALONG WITH SUBSTANTIALLY COOLER TEMPERATURES EASTWARD THURSDAY
NIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY. A GENERAL TROF PATTERN WILL REMAIN IN PLACE
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND RESULTING IN COOL AND SOMEWHAT
WET AND SHOWERY CONDITIONS. WEAK RIDGING RETURNS AND RESULTS IN A
BRIEF WARMING AND DRYING TREND FOR THE EARLY PORTION OF THE NEXT
WORKWEEK.
