.DISCUSSION...

A large and persistent area of high pressure at the surface and
aloft will remain over the eastern part of the U.S. through this
upcoming weekend, maintaining dry and unseasonably warm
conditions here in Central Pennsylvania. a light south to
southeast breeze today will freshen to around 10 mph on Sunday
with some afternoon gusts in the 14 to 18 mph range.

Low pressure will likely to track west of the state early
this coming week with a trailing cold front pushing through
Pennsylvania Tuesday or Tuesday night. This weather feature
will be preceded and accompanied by periods of rain and perhaps
a narrow band of gusty thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and
evening. Rainfall amounts over the approximate 48 hours of the
events should total between 1 and 2 inches.

A deepening upper level trough will follow with blustery
and colder weather for Wednesday and Thursday, with
the likelihood of the first snowflakes of the season flying
across the northern and western mountains of the state.
