SPOT FORECAST FOR DAVENPORT FIRE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
1145 AM MDT SUN AUG 28 2016

.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD OVER THE
REGION THROUGH EARLY IN THE WEEK PROVIDING STABLE DRYING CONDITIONS
AND GENERALLY LIGHT TERRAIN DRIVEN WINDS THROUGH MONDAY. RH TRENDS
ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DECREASE OVER THE NEXT 48 HOURS WITH
OVERNIGHT RECOVERY REMAINING MARGINAL AT BEST AND LIKELY BELOW
30 PERCENT FOR MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

A GRAZING UPPER LEVEL FEATURE APPROACHING NORTHWESTERN UTAH LATE
TUESDAY DOES LOOK TO INCREASE SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS A BIT DURING THE
AFTERNOON HOURS WITH SPEEDS LIKELY RAMPING UP INTO THE 10 TO 15 MPH
RANGE AT THAT TIME...LIKELY HOLDING DURING PEAK HEATING HOURS WED
AFTERNOON AS WELL. HIGH BASED CONVECTION LOOKS LIKE A POTENTIAL
THU/FRI AS THE PARENT TROUGH SWINGS NORTHWEST OF THE AREA...WITH
SURFACE WINDS LIKELY INCREASING ON AVERAGE THROUGH THAT PERIOD.
NOT LOOKING AT MUCH IN THE WAY OF WETTING RAIN POTENTIAL LATE WEEK
DUE TO THE HIGH BASED NATURE OF THE MOISTURE...BUT GUSTY OUTFLOWS
DO LOOK LIKELY IF THIS CONVECTION DOES TAKE FORM OVER THE AREA.
