...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS CURRENTLY LOW.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

THE CLOSED LOW THAT GAVE THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE A GOOD
WETTING RAIN SUNDAY AND MONDAY FINALLY OPENED UP TO A TROUGH AS IT
MOVED INTO THE GULF OF ALASKA. LOCATIONS IN THE FAVORED REGIONS OF
THE ALEUTIAN AND CHUGACH-KENAI MOUNTAINS WITH A SOUTHERLY FLOW ALOFT
RECEIVED 2-4 INCHES IN 72 HOURS.

THE TROUGH IN THE GULF CROSSES THE PANHANDLE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING
LEAVING BEHIND A WEAK RIDGE OVER THE MAINLAND. LESS ORGANIZED
SHOWERY TYPE PRECIPITATION WILL DOMINATE THE WEATHER ON TUESDAY...
PRETTY MUCH STATEWIDE.

IN THE LONGER RANGE... A TROUGH IN THE WESTERN BERING DIPS INTO THE
BRISTOL BAY REGION BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT WHILE ITS PARENT SYSTEM IN THE
ARCTIC REGION EDGES CLOSER TO THE NORTHERN COAST. THE LATEST SYSTEM
TO BRING THE TYPICAL HEAVY RAIN TO THE LOWER COOK INLET AND ALASKA
PENINSULA BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

FREEZING LEVELS OVER THE MAINLAND WAS LESS VIABLE THIS MORNING WITH
VALUES ACROSS THE MAINLAND RANGING BETWEEN 6000 AND 7000 FT. KODIAK
AND ANNETTE CONTINUE TO BE THE OUTLIERS WITH 7900 AND 9100 FT
RESPECTIVELY. FREEZING LEVELS WILL BE FALLING DRAMATICALLY OVER THE
NORTH BY THE MID WEEK.

PRECIPITATION... SELECTED PRECIPITATION TOTALS OVER THE 24 HOURS
ENDING AT 4 AM TODAY:
