NWS ALASKA PACIFIC RIVER FORECAST CENTER ANCHORAGE AK
300 PM AKDT TUE JUN 27 2017

...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR ALASKA.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION....

THE LOW IN THE BERING SEA HAS PROBABLY REACHED ITS MOST EASTERLY
EXTENT. PROJECTIONS ARE FOR THE LOW TO BEND BACK INTO THE CENTRAL
BERING BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE THING TO WATCH WILL BE SEVERAL
SHORT WAVES THAT ROTATE AROUND THE MAIN FEATURE AND INTO THE GULF
OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. GOOD WETTING RAINS COVER MOST OF THE
SOUTHERN MAINLAND THROUGH THURSDAY WITH ENHANCED PRECIPITATION
CHANCES THURSDAY MORNING WITH A RELATIVELY STRONG WAVE PASSING NORTH
THROUGH KODIAK ISLAND. THE PANHANDLE FINALLY GETS BACK INTO THE
PRECIPITATION EARLY FRIDAY MORNING WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LOW IN
THE GULF.

PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ON DAY ONE COULD RANGE AS HIGH AS 2 TO 3
INCHES ALONG THE FAVORED REGIONS OF THE KENAI MOUNTAINS AND NORTHERN
ALEUTIAN RANGE. WETTING RAINS GREATLY NEEDED IN THE SOUTHWEST WILL
RANGE BETWEEN AN INCH IN THE AHKLUN MOUNTAINS TO A TENTH TO QUARTER
INCH IN THE LOWLANDS. RAIN PERSISTS INTO DAY TWO WITH AMOUNTS
TAPERING OFF TO BETWEEN A HALF AN INCH AND AN INCH IN THE KENAI AND
CHUGACH MOUNTAINS.

...PRECIPITATION...

SELECTED 24 HOUR PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ENDING AT 4 AM AKDT TODAY:
