...WIND ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has cancelled the Wind
Advisory.

Strong winds have subsided over much of southeast California late
this evening and as such the Wind Advisory will be cancelled on
schedule at 1 AM PDT.

...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM PDT EARLY THIS
MORNING...

* AFFECTED AREA...Southwest corner of Imperial County including
  mountain pass elevations along Interstate 8.

* TIMING...Until 5 AM PDT Friday.

* WINDS...Sustained westerly winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40
  to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS...Difficult driving conditions, especially for high
  profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition, strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra
caution.
