DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
1110 AM EDT SAT JUL 4 2015

...All river forecast points are expected to remain below flood stage...

Deep upper level troughing persists over the region through the weekend.
Numerous impulses of energy moving through the trough will keep most
of the forecast area unsettled. Upstream of our Hydrologic Service Area
two significant upper level shortwaves will produce rainfall amounts
from 1.75 to over 2 inches, with isolated heavier amounts in basin
headwaters. This pattern coupled with convergence along a front to the
north and weak low pressure trough lying though the region will allow
for continued showers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period.

River levels are expected to rise slightly as dam operators release water
to maintain optimum lake levels and for hydro power production. However
...major river forecast points will remain below flood stage. The primary
threat for our region during the forecast period will be localized urban
area and small stream basin flash flooding associated with heavier showers
and thunderstorms.
