...LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST
FRIDAY...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL FALL HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH MIDNIGHT
   AND WILL DIMINISH AFTER MIDNIGHT.

 * STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHWESTERLY WINDS TO 45 MPH WILL RESULT IN
   AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...ESPECIALLY NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR
   AND IN OPEN AREAS FARTHER INLAND THROUGH MIDNIGHT BEFORE THE WIND
   DECREASES AFTER MIDNIGHT.

 * PLAN ON TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS THROUGH LATE TONIGHT OF 3 TO 5
   INCHES. THE MOST SNOW WILL OCCUR IN THE SNOW BELTS FROM
   DEERTON AND CHATHAM TO SHINGLETON AND MELSTRAND.

IMPACTS...

 * THE MAIN IMPACT WILL BE TO TRAVEL CONDITIONS AS VISIBILITY WILL BE
   REDUCED TO LESS THAN A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES DUE TO THE FALLING
   SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

 * ROADS WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.

 * A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND
   BLOWING SNOW IS FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN
   SOME AREAS.
