Fire Weather Planning Forecast For NE Kansas/NW Missouri
National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO
258 AM CST Tue Dec 12 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are certainly not like yesterday, but are
slightly elevated today in areas south and east of I-35, as fuels
remain very dry and relative humidities are expected to drop to
near 30%. The northwesterly winds will be the limiting factor
though. They are expected to be sustained near 10 mph with gusts
up to 15 mph.

Fire weather concerns are also slightly elevated for Wednesday due
to the very dry fuels and northwesterly winds sustained between 15
and 25 mph with gusts between 30 and 35 mph. The highest wind
values are expected in northwest MO and northeast KS. The
relative humidity will be the limiting factor though as areas
north and east of the MO River should stay above 40%. Areas west
and south of the MO River though should be in the 30s, making this
the main area of concern right now.
