Fire Weather Planning Forecast For NE Kansas/NW Missouri
National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO
401 AM CDT Tue Apr 25 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns should be low today despite another windy
day thanks to higher humidity values. Winds will be out of the
south until a cold front enters northeast KS/northwest MO this
evening, veering winds to the northwest. The strongest sustained
winds will be between 15-20 kts this afternoon gusting between
25-30 kts. These stronger winds should stay south and east of
I-35. The humidity should only drop into the 50s for KS and
western MO, while the 30s and 40s are expected in central MO. This
evening, showers and storms return as the cold front slides
through. The showers and a few storms will continue across the
area through Wednesday, keeping RH values high and fire weather
concerns low. Winds will remain out of the northwest Wednesday,
but will only be between 10-15 kts.
