Fire Weather Planning Forecast For NE Kansas/NW Missouri
National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO
331 AM CST Sun Dec 10 2017

.DISCUSSION...

A slightly elevated fire danger is expected today across eastern
Kansas and western Missouri as temperatures move above normal and
relative humidity values fall to near 30 percent with dry fuels.
Winds will be the limiting factor today as they will be out of the
west this morning before shifting to the northwest this afternoon
between 8 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph. High fire danger is
expected for Monday across eastern Kansas and western Missouri as
relative humidity values are again expected to drop to around 30
percent with above normal temperatures. However, unlike Sunday,
winds will be strong out of the northwest during the afternoon
increasing to 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Fire danger
across central and eastern Missouri will also be elevated
however, higher relative humidity values between 35 to 40 percent
will be a limiting factor.
