THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL HAS
CANCELLED THE HEAT ADVISORY.

THICK DEBRIS CLOUD COVER FROM MORNING SHOWERS AND STORMS OVER
SOUTHERN NEBRASKA AND NORTHERN KANSAS HAVE OVERSPREAD NORTHWEST
MISSOURI THIS AFTERNOON AND HAVE LIMITED THE AMOUNT OF HEATING. EARLY
AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES IN THE UPPER 80S AND LOWER 90S ARE LIKELY TO
REMAIN BELOW 100 DEGREES AFTER THE CLOUDS CLEAR BETWEEN 3 AND 4 PM.
THUS THE HEAT ADVISORY HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR PARTS OF NORTHWEST
MISSOURI.

  TEMPERATURES WILL REACH THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 90S WITH HEAT INDEX
  VALUES RANGING FROM 103 TO 107.

* IMPACTS...OPPRESSIVE HEAT WILL RESULT IN AN INCREASED RISK OF
  HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS...IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN

FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...
AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

 YOUNG CHILDREN AND PETS SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN
VEHICLES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.  THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE DURING
WARM OR HOT WEATHER WHEN CAR INTERIORS CAN REACH LETHAL
TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.

  HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES.
