CHARACTERIZED KANSAS CITY WEATHER IN AUGUST...

The average temperature for the month of August at the Kansas City
International Airport was 77.5 degrees, which was 0.4 degrees above
normal. The average high temperature was 87.3 degrees, or 0.1
degrees below normal. The average low temperature was 67.8 degrees
which was 1.0 degrees above normal. The highest temperature for the
month was 97 degrees on the 23rd. The lowest temperature was 57
degrees on the 12th.

Precipitation came in at 7.42 inches for the month, or 3.53 inches
above normal. The greatest total in a 24 hour period was 3.47 inches
on the 6th. This was the 12th wettest August on record for Kansas
City on the 126-year record.
