...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1921, early season warmth pushed temperatures into the mid
and upper 80s across the Tri State area. Colby and Dresden Kansas
both reached 90, while Hill City and Norton Kansas topped out
at 91 degrees.

In 1971, high winds accompanied a powerful low pressure system
tracking from the Rocky Mountains to the Great Lakes. Winds gusted
to 100 mph at Hastings Nebraska and to 115 mph at Hays Kansas.
High winds caused 2 million dollars in property damage in Kansas.
