...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the
  following counties, Gaston and Lincoln.

* WHEN...Until 215 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1114 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen. Emergency Management in Gaston County has
    reported ponding along Interstate 85.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding. Expect rises along headwaters of the South Fork of
    the Lower Catawba as well as Dutchman`s Creek. Smaller creeks
    and branches will likely see rapid rises.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Gastonia, Huntersville, Lincolnton, Northwest Charlotte,
    Cornelius, Kings Mountain, Mt Holly, Belmont, Cherryville,
    Bessemer City, South Gastonia, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton,
    Lowell, Ranlo, Westport, High Shoals, Mcadenville and Iron
    Station.

threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service

NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location where
impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed.
