...The National Weather Service in St Louis MO has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...Illinois...

  Mississippi River at Winfield.

  Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

  Mississippi River at Grafton.

  Mississippi River near Herculaneum.

  Mississippi River at Chester.

  Mississippi River at St. Louis.

  Mississippi River at Alton.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

This product, along with additional weather and stream information,

The next statement will be issued late Tuesday night at midnight CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT TO SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Winfield.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 27.5 feet, At this stage, Lock and Dam 25 will
  stockpile 200 tons of sand, 12,000 sandbags, and 10,000 square
  feet of polyethylene plastic as a precaution.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 24.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 27.6 feet early
    Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
    Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening to Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Highway 94 and the east end of Harbor
  Point Road off of Highway 94 north of West Alton begin flooding
  within a foot or so of this height.  Also, the access road to the
  Lincoln Shields area off Highway 67 just west of the Clark bridge
  begins flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 14.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow evening to a crest of 25.4 feet early Thursday
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Grafton.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening to Monday, May 06.

* IMPACTS...At 21.9 feet, In northern St. Charles County, Missouri
  Route B from Lehmond Island Road to Kampville Drive, Wilson Road
  at Washeon Road, and Grafton Ferry Road and Sherwood Harbor Road
  north of Smartt Field are closed.  West of Portage des Sioux,
  Sioux Drive is also closed at this height.
  At 22.5 feet, East end of Main Street in Portage des Sioux begins
  flooding near this height.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 17.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow evening to a crest of 22.5 feet Thursday evening. It
    will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

  - At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 14.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Wednesday morning to a crest of 30.0 feet early
    Thursday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early
    Saturday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 34.7 feet, The north parking lot at Menard
  Correctional Center begins flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 17.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of 34.4 feet
    early Friday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at St. Louis.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning to early Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Flood panels at Carr Street and Poplar
  Street are installed.  Water will reach the base of the floodgates
  at Carr Street at 35 feet, and at Poplar Street at 36.5 feet.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 16.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late Wednesday morning to a crest of 32.3 feet early Thursday
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Friday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Alton.

* WHEN...From Wednesday evening to late Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 21.7 feet, At this level, Highway 94 and the east end
  of Harbor Point Road off of Missouri Highway 94 north of West
  Alton begin flooding.  Also, the access road the Lincoln Shields
  recreation area off of U.S. Highway 367 just west of the Clark
  bridge begins flooding.
  At 22.2 feet, Missouri Highway 94 between Portage Des Sioux and
  West Alton begins flooding.  Yachtview Drive begins flooding along
  the entrance to Harbor Point Yacht Club.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 14.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late Wednesday evening to a crest of 22.0 feet Thursday
    evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
