...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Minnesota...

  Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Lac qui Parle
  and Yellow Medicine Counties.

.Rainfall from earlier this week has caused area rivers to rise.
Reduced rain chances over the next several days should allow area
rivers to level off and eventually lower.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL THURSDAY, MAY 16...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo.

* WHEN...Until Thursday, May 16.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the
  river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along
  the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 900 AM CDT Thursday, the stage was 15.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 900 AM CDT Thursday was 15.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.1
    feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
    Wednesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    15.1 feet on 04/14/1998.
