THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER WAS 54.1 DEGREES
WHICH WAS 3.9 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 61.8
DEGREES...WHILE THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 46.5 DEGREES. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE DURING THE MONTH WAS 81 DEGREES ON THE 2ND...AND
THE LOWEST READING WAS 25 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 31ST.

LA CROSSE RECEIVED 6.01 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION DURING THE MONTH OF
OCTOBER WHICH WAS 3.84 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL AND RANKED AS THE 4TH
WETTEST OCTOBER ON RECORD. THE WETTEST OCTOBER ON RECORD WAS IN 1900
WHEN 12.09 INCHES FELL.  THE GREATEST 24-HOUR PRECIPITATION AMOUNT
WAS 1.56 INCHES WHICH FELL ON THE 6TH.

OCTOBER 2017 WAS UNSEASONABLY WARM WITH 24 DAYS RECORDING ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES. THIS WARMER PATTERN ALSO BROUGHT 7 DAYS WITH
THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE MONTH, NORMALLY THERE WOULD ONLY BE 1 DAY.
THE WETTEST PERIOD DURING THE MONTH WAS FROM THE 6TH TO THE 7TH WHEN
2.04 INCHES OF RAIN FELL FROM THUNDERSTORMS. THE FIRST FREEZE
OCCURRED ON THE 29TH WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 30 DEGREES.
