Flood Statement
National Weather Service Indianapolis IN
1054 AM EDT Wed May 24 2017

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following river in
western Indiana...

  Wabash River...

.Lowland river flooding continued along the Wabash River in western
Indiana from Lafayette to near Vincennes late Wednesday morning.
The latest crest was nearing the Montezuma area. This crest was
flattening out as it moved downstream. This latest high water is not
nearly as extensive as the floods of the first half of May.

Little rain fell on Tuesday night in central and southern Indiana.
Rainfall from one-half inch in north central Indiana to possibly two
inches in southeast Indiana is expected by Thursday morning. This
rain will prolong flooding along the Wabash River into early June
and cause bankfull rivers in southern Indiana.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
