...The flood warning continues for the Mississipp River along the
Illinois Missouri border...

                     at Canton Lock and Dam 20
                     at Quincy
                     at Hannibal
                     at Louisiana
                     at Clarksville Lock and Dam 24

.This Flood Warning is a result of 2 to 9 inches of rain over the
past week across southwestern Wisconsin, northeastern Iowa, and
northern Illinois...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Canton Lock and Dam 20
* from late Thursday night to Sunday evening.
* At 10:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 11.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by early Friday
  morning and crest near 14.2 feet by Friday early afternoon.The
  river will fall below flood stage by Saturday evening.
* Impact:  At 14.0 feet...Both banks begin to overflow.  Minor damages
  begin.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Quincy
* from late Friday night to Sunday morning.
* At 10:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* The river is expected to rise to near flood stage early Saturday
  morning.
* Impact:  At 15.0 feet...Riverside campsites south of Quincy begin to
  flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Hannibal
* from Thursday afternoon to Tuesday August 01.
* At 10:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 13.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Thursday early
  afternoon and to crest near 16.7 feet by Friday evening. The river
  is forecast to fall below flood stage by Monday morning.
* Impact:  At 17.0 feet...John Hay Recreation Area on east side
  (inside the Illinois Sny Levee) begins flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Louisiana
* from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
* At 10:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 12.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday early
  afternoon and to crest near 15.2 feet by early Saturday morning.
  The river is forecast to fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.
* Impact:  At 15.0 feet...Damage begins in unprotected areas.
* Impact:  At 12.2 feet...For barge navigation, the Corps will attempt
  to keep the river at or below this level.  Year-round target levels
  are between 11.5 and 12.2 feet.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Clarksville LD24
* from Friday afternoon to Monday evening.
* At 10:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 22.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday afternoon
  and crest near 25.3 feet by Saturday morning.The river will fall
  below flood stage by Sunday evening.
* Impact:  At 25.5 feet...State Route P east of Elsberry begins
  flooding just east of the levee.
* Impact:  At 25.3 feet...The road to Port Marmac, about 15 homes just
  south of Clarksville, begins flooding.
