...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR THE PALMER DIVIDE AND FAR EASTERN PLAINS...

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...It will be cooler today with
less wind and slightly higher humidity. There will still be
elevated fire danger over the Palmer Divide this afternoon where
south winds will gust from 35 to 40 mph at times. Winds will
decrease this evening with rising humidity levels.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday through Sunday...South-
southwesterly flow aloft will increase in speed Thursday night
through Saturday night across the forecast area. It will continue
to be dry with above normal temperatures Thursday into early
Friday. Moisture will increase significantly over the forecast
area Friday into the weekend. A cold front will drop temperatures
below seasonal normals Friday night. These cooler readings will
continue through the weekend. The chance of wetting rain will
increase from Friday through the weekend, more so in the
mountains and foothills.
