Temperatures will be 15-30 degrees above average with mid 70s to lower 80s for areas east of Billings. There are elevated fire weather concerns today for local areas where green- up has not yet occurred in southeast MT, northwest SD, and Sheridan County, WY, and there will be a combination of warm temperatures, winds gusts 35-45 mph, and minimum humidity in the 20-25 percent range. The warmup will be short-lived as confidence is high that a dynamic spring storm system will impact us next week...with cooler temps, significant rain and mountain snow, and strong northwest winds. Areas over the eastern districts (Sioux Ranger, Custer, Ashland Ranger) may see 1-2 inches of liquid precipitation through midweek (probability 60-80% >1.00 inches).
