Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
253 PM EST Fri Jan 19 2018

.DISCUSSION...Surface high pressure moving slowly east will be
centered south of the forecast area through Sunday. A slow moderation
in temperatures will take place during that time, but the airmass
will remain too dry for any precipitation.

The nighttime inversion will develop this evening between 6 and 7 PM
and persist until around 9 AM. Poor dispersion is expected, with no
fog development due to the dry airmass.

Surface winds Saturday will be from the west-southwest around 5 mph
after daybreak, then increase to 5 to 10 mph by late morning.
Transport winds will become west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph by late
morning. Relative humidities will drop into the 35 to 40 percent
range overall.
