Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
318 PM CDT Thu Oct 19 2017

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will remain in place over the southern Appalachians
through Friday, shifting to the east Coast on Saturday. This will
keep a very dry and stable airmass in place over north Alabama.
Generally poor smoke dispersion values are expected on Friday,
improving to generally good on Saturday as southeast to south
flow increases. RH values will drop to around 30 percent on
Friday afternoon. Moisture will increase a bit due to southerly
flow on Friday with minimum RH values of around 40-50 percent.

A cold front and upper level system will track through the region
Sunday into Monday producing scattered to numerous showers and
thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible during
this period for some areas. However, the forecast remains
somewhat uncertain in this regard, so be sure to check later
updates.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy dense fog will
be possible early Friday and Saturday mornings in area river
valleys, particularly the Tennessee River in northeast Alabama.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Red Flag conditions are not
expected during the next several days.
