Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
448 AM EST Mon Dec 11 2017

.DISCUSSION...A weak ridge of high pressure will keep the weather
dry and a bit mild today across eastern Kentucky. Clouds will be
on the increase tonight, however, as an area of low pressure aloft
move out of the northern Plains and then across the Ohio and Tennessee
valley regions. This system will bring a mix of drizzle, freezing
drizzle, and light snow to the area late tonight, and then rain and
snow showers on Tuesday. Some light ice accumulations may occur towards
dawn on Tuesday, with light snow accumulations possible during the day
on Tuesday. Minimum humidity values will not cause any concerns in regards
to fire danger today or tomorrow. Surface winds will be out of the
south or southwest today and will increase to around 10KTs by this
afternoon, with gusts to around 20KTs possible at times.
