Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
356 PM CDT Wed Sep 20 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
A Red Flag Warning was issued for Fire Weather Zone 210 for low
relative humidity values and gusty south to southwest winds. Much
of southwest Nebraska will see a dry and very warm pattern in
place by Thursday afternoon with afternoon temperatures well above
normal for this time of year. As low pressure develops in eastern
Colorado, southerly winds will increase through the day as
relative humidity drops. The same pattern will be in place Friday
but low level moisture will be slightly higher and should keep
relative humidity values above critical levels.

A strong cold front will move through the area Friday night as a
strong low pressure area moves in. This will set the stage for a
cooler and wtter period for the weekend into the first of next
week.
