FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
825 AM PDT MON AUG 3 2015

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A FEW SHOWERS OR EVEN AN ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORM OR TWO COULD LINGER INTO THE CASCADES TODAY. BUT
CLOUDS WILL BE CLEARING THROUGH THE DAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE DEPARTS. GRADUAL COOLING WILL OCCUR THE FIRST HALF
OF THE WEEK WITH ONSHORE FLOW AS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW MOVES
OVERHEAD. A BRIEF WARMING TREND MAY OCCUR LATE IN THE THE WEEK
...BUT ANOTHER COOL TROUGH APPEARS TO BE ON TAP FOR NEXT WEEKEND.

.DISCUSSION...AN UPPER LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING THROUGH
THE REGION FROM THE SOUTH IS BRINGING SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS
THIS MORNING. THESE MAY LINGER IN THE CASCADES THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON...WITH AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM OR TWO POSSIBLE AS
WELL. HOWEVER...IN GENERAL THE CLOUDS WILL BE CLEARING THROUGH
THE DAY AS THE SHORTWAVE CLEARS THE REGION. EXPECT A GENERAL
COOLING AND MOISTENING TREND THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS A COOL UPPER
TROUGH SLOWLY MOVES ONSHORE. MODERATE ONSHORE FLOW WILL CREATE
BREEZY CONDITIONS THROUGH THE CENTRAL COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING EACH OF THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

THERE MAY BE BRIEF WARMING TREND ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS
THE UPPER TROUGH MOVES EAST OF THE REGION. THERE WILL BE A
CLOSED LOW MOVING INTO CENTRAL OR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DURING
THIS TIME...BUT IT CURRENTLY APPEARS THAT ANY POTENTIAL
ASSOCIATED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL REMAIN MOSTLY SOUTH OF
LANE COUNTY. THEN ANOTHER COOL UPPER TROUGH IS FORECASTED TO
MOVE INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST NEXT WEEKEND...BRINGING MORE
ONSHORE FLOW AND POTENTIALLY A FEW SHOWERS. PYLE
