Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
411 AM MDT Tue Aug 22 2017

.Discussion...
Monsoon moisture over the area will result in daily afternoon
thunderstorms through mid week with the best chance over the
mountains. Locally heavy rainfall and the potential for flash
flooding on burn scars will be the primary concerns. The threat
for strong to severe thunderstorms across portions of the plains
increases for Thursday. Temperatures today will be below normal
but will return to near normal by late week.

Drier air moves in for Friday which should decrease the
thunderstorm threat into early next week.

Afternoon smoke dispersion rates will rise into the fair to good
category this afternoon. Higher afternoon dispersions are expected
for Wednesday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
