...DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF...

INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS ARE EXPECTED TODAY IN ADVANCE OF A WEATHER
SYSTEM WHICH WILL BRING STRONG WINDS AND SOME SNOW SHOWERS TO THE
SIERRA...SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN AND MOJAVE DESERT TONIGHT THROUGH
CHRISTMAS DAY. MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES WILL FOLLOW THIS SYSTEM
WITH COLDER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES LINGERING OVER THE WEEKEND. A
COOL NORTHERLY FLOW PROMISES COOL TEMPERATURES WILL PERSIST NEXT
WEEK.

...DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX...

GUSTY EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS IN THE SAN DIEGO MOUNTAINS AND INLAND
VALLEYS WILL WEAKEN EARLY THIS MORNING WITH CONTINUED LOWER INLAND
HUMIDITIES TODAY. STRONG GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP IN THE
MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS TONIGHT IN ADVANCE OF A COLD LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE GREAT BASIN. THIS LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING A CHANCE OF SHOWERS ALONG AND WEST OF THE
MOUNTAINS LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING. THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED
BY PERIODS OF GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS IN ALONG THE COASTAL SLOPES OF
THE MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILL AREAS FOR THURSDAY INTO
SATURDAY. CONTINUED COOL WITH WEAKER WINDS FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

...DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR...

LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS WILL PREVAIL TODAY...HOWEVER ANOTHER
FRONTAL PASSAGE THURSDAY WILL LEAD TO GUSTY NORTH WINDS...ESPECIALLY
OVER RIDGE TOPS OF SE CALIFORNIA AND CHANNELED THROUGH THE COLORADO
RIVER VALLEY. GUSTS TO 30 MPH WILL BE LIKELY LEADING TO A SLIGHTLY
ELEVATED FIRE DANGER...THOUGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL ONLY
FALL TO JUST BELOW 20 PERCENT. OTHERWISE...DRY CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE WITH GOOD TO EXCELLENT OVERNIGHT RECOVERY.
