  WATERS FROM SURF CITY TO CAPE FEAR NC FROM 20 TO 40 NM...

AT 348 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND STRONG
GUSTY WINDS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED NEAR FRYING PAN SHOALS
LIGHT TOWER...MOVING NORTH AT 25 KNOTS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS UP TO 33 KNOTS...LOCALLY HIGHER
WAVES...LIGHTNING STRIKES...AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK
SAFE HARBOR IMMEDIATELY UNTIL THIS STORM PASSES.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. IF CAUGHT ON THE OPEN
