...Gales Expected Tuesday...

.A strong frontal system will move into the coastal waters
Tuesday with southerly gales. This will also push seas in much of
the area to warning levels.

...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 4 PM PST TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Gale
Warning...which is in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM PST Tuesday. A
Small Craft Advisory has also been issued. This Small Craft
Advisory is in effect from 4 AM to 7 AM PST Tuesday. The Gale
Watch has been upgraded.

* Winds...South and increasing to advisory strength early Tuesday
  morning then 30 to 40 kt with gusts to 50 kt Tuesday morning
  through Tuesday afternoon.

* Seas...South wind waves and northwest swell will combine and
  produce high seas of 14 to 18 ft on Tuesday. Wind dominated seas
  will peak on Tuesday afternoon then high and steep northwest
  swell is likely to reach a peak on Wednesday. Elevated seas are
  likely to persist through Wednesday night.

* Areas affected...The strongest winds and largest seas are likely
  to occur beyond 5 nautical miles from shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A Small Craft Advisory means that winds and seas will create a
potential hazard to smaller vessels and inexperienced mariners.

Warning...which is in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM PST Tuesday. A
Small Craft Advisory has also been issued. This Small Craft
Advisory is in effect from 4 AM to 4 PM PST Tuesday. The Gale
Watch has been upgraded.

* Winds...Becoming south tonight and increasing to 25 to 35 kt
  with gusts to 45 kt Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

* Seas...South wind waves and northwest swell will combine to
  produce high seas of 10 to 14 ft on Tuesday. Wind dominated seas
  will peak on Tuesday afternoon then high and steep northwest
  swell is likely to reach a peak on Wednesday. Seas are likely
  to remain high and steep through Wednesday night.

* Areas affected...All of the waters will be affected with the
  strongest winds and highest seas beyond 5 nm from shore and also
  near shore from Port Orford northward.
