DISCUSSION:

A TROF OF LOW PRESSURE AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH
AREA FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. RAIN WILL DEVELOP
ACROSS THE CENTRAL COAST FRIDAY AFTERNOON...THEN OVERSPREAD THE
ENTIRE FORECAST AREA FRIDAY NIGHT.

THERE WILL LIKELY BE A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN FROM SANTA
BARBARA COUNTY NORTHWARD ON FRIDAY EVENING AS THE INITIAL COLD FRONT
MOVES THROUGH. BEHIND THE FRONT PRECIPITATION WILL TURN MORE SHOWERY
AND CONVECTIVE FRIDAY NIGHT...WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS.

THE STEADIEST RAIN IN VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES WILL COME
FRIDAY NIGHT. NO THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED FOR LOS ANGELES AND
VENTURA COUNTIES...BUT THERE COULD BE SOME CONVECTIVE SHOWERS LATE
FRIDAY NIGHT.

MAX RAINFALL RATES WILL BE ABOUT A THIRD OF AN INCH PER HOUR.
HEAVIER RAINFALL RATES UP TO AN INCH PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE UNDER
TSTMS.

SCATTERED TO ISOLATED SHOWERS WILL LINGER DURING THE DAY ON
SATURDAY. BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON MANY AREAS ON THE CENTRAL COAST WILL
SEE RAINFALL TOTALS AROUND 1 INCH...WITH SOME 2 INCH AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE FOR THE COASTAL SLOPES OF NORTHERN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY.
THE REST OF THE NON-DESERT AREAS SHOULD RECEIVE ABOUT 1/4 TO 3/4 OF
AN INCH OF RAIN...EXCEPT FOR THE FOOTHILL AREAS OF THE SAN
GABRIELS...WHICH COULD SEE UP TO 1 INCH.

SNOW LEVELS WILL START OUT OVER 7000 FEET FRIDAY NIGHT...THEN FALL
TO AROUND 6000 FEET BY SATURDAY. SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ARE
POSSIBLE AT ELEVATIONS OVER 6500 FEET IN THE VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES
COUNTY MOUNTAINS.
