...ELEVATED THREAT FOR ERRATIC WILDFIRE BEHAVIOR ACROSS THE LOWER
TEXAS COAST THIS AFTERNOON...

THERE IS AN ELEVATED THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR NOW THROUGH
6 PM. THERE IS ALSO A THREAT FOR ENHANCED WILDFIRE GROWTH AND
RAPID SPREAD POTENTIAL.

A DRYLINE HAS MOVED THROUGH DEEP SOUTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON WITH
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS CONTINUING TO DEVELOP. MUCH DRIER AIR WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE COASTAL SECTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS
THIS AFTERNOON AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES WILL PLUMMET TO
AROUND 20 PERCENT ACROSS PORTIONS OF KENEDY...WILLACY AND CAMERON
COUNTIES. IN ADDITION...20-FOOT WIND SPEEDS WILL BE IN THE 15 TO
20 MPH RANGE. EXTREME CAUTION IS URGED IF BURNING TO TODAY.

THE THREAT WILL DIMINISH THIS EVENING AS WIND SPEEDS DECREASE AND
TEMPERATURES BEGIN TO COOL ALLOWING RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES TO
RECOVER.
