RANGELAND FIRE DANGER STATEMENT

.DISCUSSION...Skies will be partly cloudy this
afternoon with high temperatures in the lower to
middle 60s. Minimum Relative humidity will range from
around 35 percent in western South Dakota to around 50
percent in south central South Dakota. Winds will be
westerly at 10 to 15 mph.

...Moderate Fire Danger...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the moderate category
this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering
moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on
the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
occurrence. Do not leave outdoor fires unattended under these
conditions.

The outlook for Wednesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the moderate category to high category.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.
