DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
1247 PM EDT SAT MAY 28 2016

High pressure centered offshore will keep Southern New England mainly
dry and hot today; however there is the slight risk for an afternoon
shower or thunderstorm across the interior. A back door cold front will
drop south across northeast Massachusetts, the south shore and Cape Cod
early Sunday. Temperatures on either side of this front will be dramatic
on Sunday, with warm temperatures on the south side, and cooler
temperatures on the north side. There will be the chance for an
afternoon shower and thunderstorm on Sunday, but mainly over the
interior.

Showers are likely on Monday with possible thunderstorms, due to the
remnants of a tropical system over the Carolinas that will spread
northward. This tropical moisture could produce locally heavy rainfall.

Area main stem river levels will remain nearly stationary through early
Monday; however any tropical downpours later on Monday, occurring in a
short amount of time, could cause some smaller streams to rise quickly.

These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending
at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow.
