Light rainfall, with amounts less than one tenth of an inch, fell in
part of the North Carolina piedmont during the 24 hours ending at 7AM
this morning. Up to one quarter inch of rainfall is expected in the
mountains of North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia this afternoon
and tonight. Small rises in river stages, generally less than 2 feet,
are expected in the James River basin through 7AM Thursday. Little change
is forecast in river stages across the rest of the region.
