24 HOUR BASIN AVERAGE RAINFALL ENDING AT 8:00 AM THURSDAY WAS NEAR ZERO IN MOST
LOCATIONS. THE EXCEPTION WAS BETWEEN ONE TENTH TO ONE QUARTER INCH IN MIDDLE SECTIONS
OF THE NEW RIVER VALLEY. FORECAST RAINFALL FOR THE 24 HOUR PERIOD ENDING AT 8:00 AM
FRIDAY IS A SOMEWHAT LARGER AREA OF ONE TENTH TO ONE QUARTER INCH...MAINLY OVER THE
NEW RIVER AND GREENBRIER RIVER BASINS...AS WELL AS THE CLINCH AND SALT RIVER BASINS.
THIS WILL BE IN THE FORM OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...THUS LOCALLY HEAVIER RAINFALL IS
EXPECTED WITHIN THESE AREAS. ELSEWHERE...BASIN AVERAGE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE LESS
THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.

IMPACTS ON AREA RIVER STAGES OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS WILL BE MINIMAL GIVEN MAINLY
SCATTERED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY.
