...River Statement For The Cahaba River...

Recent rainfall has resulted in rises along the Cahaba River. The
latest forecast keeps levels within caution range through late Sunday...
though they will be falling following a crest early Saturday afternoon.
Water levels are projected to remain below the established minor flood
stage.

The Cahaba River At Marion Junction.
 Latest Stage:     28.0 Feet at 8 PM Friday.
 Caution Stage:    15.0 Feet.
 Flood Stage:      36.0 Feet.
 Forecast:         Crest near 31.6 feet tomorrow early afternoon
                   and then begin to fall.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later
statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected today and
tonight.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.

Another statement will be issued Saturday morning...or sooner if
conditions warrant.
