RAIN WAS BEGINNING TO BREAK OUT ACROSS SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND MUCH OF
THE MISSOURI OZARKS THIS EVENING AS TEMPERATURES WERE STILL IN THE
40S. A COLD FRONT WILL USHER IN COLDER AIR AS THE NIGHT WEARS ON. AS
THIS OCCURS THE RAIN WILL TRANSITION OVER TO FREEZING RAIN...SLEET
AND SNOW ONCE TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW FREEZING LATE TONIGHT. THERE
WILL BE A CHANCE FOR ACCUMULATING SLEET AND SNOW DURING THE DAY
WEDNESDAY...ESPECIALLY OVER SOUTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF MISSOURI. A
WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
BEGINNING LATE TONIGHT...WITH A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY TO THE NORTH
FROM EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS THROUGH THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR.

THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITH COLD CONDITIONS THEN
SETTLING IN FOR THURSDAY. HIGHS ON THURSDAY WILL ONLY BE IN THE
MIDDLE 20S TO AROUND 30 WITH THE LOWEST WIND CHILLS IN THE SINGLE
DIGITS ABOVE AND BELOW ZERO EARLY IN THE DAY.

AN UPSWING IN TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED BEGINNING ON FRIDAY AND
CONTINUING RIGHT INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE UPCOMING WEEKEND IS
LOOKING QUITE BEAUTIFUL WITH SUNNY SKIES AND AFTERNOON HIGH
TEMPERATURES CLIMBING TO NEAR THE 50 DEGREE MARK.
