...Narrow Bands of Lake Effect Snow to Impact the Region through
noontime...

At 1040 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated narrow lake effect snow
bands over the central and eastern Mohawk Valley, eastern
Catskills and Schoharie County, as well as portions of the
southern Greens, Berkshires, and Litchfield Hills. Snowfall is
locally moderate to heavy within these bands.

Narrow bands of lake effect snow will continue to move across
these areas through noon. These localized bands will produce near
whiteout conditions and hazardous travel. These snow bands may be
only a few miles wide, so be on the lookout for rapidly
deteriorating conditions. These snow bands could produce snowfall
rates of greater than one inch per hour. Please use extreme
caution while traveling.

Moderate falling and blowing snow will allow for significantly
reduced visibility. This includes portions of Interstate 88, as
well as Interstate 90 including the Berkshire Spur and Mass
Turnpike.
