MORNING...

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND FLURRIES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING
COMMUTE ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY. THESE SNOW SHOWERS MAY BRIEFLY
REDUCE VISIBILITIES DOWN TO A MILE OR SO. RIDGETOPS...MAINLY ABOVE
2000 FEET...COULD SEE UP TO AN INCH OF FLUFFY ACCUMULATION BY MID
MORNING. ELSEWHERE...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE GENERALLY
A DUSTING OR LESS. THIS...COUPLED WITH THE RESIDUAL MOISTURE LEFT
FROM THE RAIN AND SNOW OF YESTERDAY...HAS LED TO A FEW SLICK SPOTS ON
ROADS ACROSS THE REGION. GIVEN THIS...EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE
TRAVELING THIS MORNING.

THE COLDEST AIR MASS SO FAR THIS FALL...MORE TYPICAL OF JANUARY...
HAS OVERTAKEN THE REGION. MORNING TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE TEENS
WITH READINGS STRUGGLING TO REACH THE LOW AND MID 20S IN MOST
LOCATIONS BY AFTERNOON. TONIGHT WILL REMAIN QUITE COLD AS ARCTIC HIGH
PRESSURE MOVES OVERHEAD...WITH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BOTTOM OUT IN
THE MID TEENS. READINGS THIS LOW ARE AT...OR COLDER THAN...RECORD
VALUES DURING THIS TIME IN NOVEMBER...OR ROUGHLY 20 TO 30 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL. ADDITIONALLY...WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS
CAN BE EXPECTED AT TIMES THIS MORNING AND AGAIN TONIGHT.
