...HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED OVER THE BLUE MOUNTAINS TONIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING...

.A WINTER STORM WILL MOVE SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS WASHINGTON AND
OREGON TONIGHT AND SUNDAY BRINGING HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW TO THE
REGION AND COLDER AIR BEHIND IT. HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS
THE NORTHERN BLUE MOUNTAINS OF OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON.

10 PM PST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PENDLETON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS
EVENING TO 10 PM PST SUNDAY.

* LOCATIONS...MEACHAM...TOLLGATE...SKI BLUEWOOD RESORT.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...LITTLE OR NO ICE ACCUMULATION EXPECTED.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...8 TO 12 INCHES...ESPECIALLY ABOVE 4000
  FEET.

* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP BY LATE EVENING AND BECOME
  HEAVIER TOWARD DAYBREAK. HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED SUNDAY BEFORE
  TAPERING OFF SUNDAY EVENING. SNOW COULD MIX WITH A LITTLE RAIN
  FOR A SHORT TIME BELOW 4000 FEET SUNDAY AROUND MIDDAY BEFORE
  COLD AIR RETURNS TO THE REGION.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME COVERED WITH HEAVY WET SNOW AND
  DIFFICULT FOR TRAVEL BY MID MORNING SUNDAY. THERE COULD ALSO BE
  SOME BLOWING SNOW REDUCING VISIBILITIES.

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH IN EXPOSED
  AREAS.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND 30.

* SNOW LEVEL...3500 FEET LOWERING TO BELOW 3000 FEET IN THE
  AFTERNOON.
