Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
251 PM MDT Tue Apr 30 2024

...A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the San Luis Valley
until 7 PM MDT this evening...

...A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon until 9 PM MDT
Wednesday for the San Luis Valley and portions of the southeast
plains...

.Discussion...

Hot and dry conditions, combined with strong west to southwest
winds, will produce enhanced fire danger across portions
of the area this evening and again on Wednesday.

An upper level low pressure system will then drop down out of the
Pacific Northwest and sweep across the Great Basin and northern
Rockies, bringing cooler air and a greater chance for light
precipitation Wednesday night through Thursday.

Unsettled conditions are expected for Friday and Saturday, then
drier and warmer weather returns Sunday.

Smoke dispersion will reach very good to excellent levels across
the district on Wednesday, with good or better levels then
forecast for most locations Friday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
