Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1051 AM MST Fri Feb 17 2017

.Discussion...

Showers will return to the forecast along the Continental Divide
late this afternoon through the weekend as a series of disturbances
move across the area. Temperatures will remain above normal which
will restrict snowfall to the higher elevations of the mountains
until a storm system approaches on Sunday. Several inches of snow
will be possible on Sunday along the Continental Divide...with
light accumulations across the higher peaks of the southeast
mountains. Isolated showers will be possible across the plains as
well though precipitation amounts should remain light. Dry
weather will return for the early part of next week. Another
storm system may bring another chance of showers to the area
Wednesday night through Thursday.

Smoke dispersion will be poor across the mountains today...though
the plains will see fair to good afternoon dispersion by mid
afternoon due to stronger winds. All areas will see poor
dispersion after sunset. Stronger winds on Saturday will lead
to good or better afternoon smoke dispersion for most of the
district.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
