THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST
MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

SNOW WILL RAPIDLY DEVELOP THIS EVENING ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA
LEADING TO A QUICK 3 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOWFALL FOR AREAS ALONG AND
NORTH OF HIGHWAY 2. RAIN WILL MIX WITH SNOW SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 2 AND
ACROSS MOST OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN LEADING TO LESSER SNOWFALL
AMOUNTS AROUND 1 TO 3 INCHES. IN DULUTH AND NORTH ALONG THE NORTH
SHORE OF MINNESOTA AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES RIGHT
ALONG THE LAKE SHORE TO 3 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN.
THOSE TRAVELING TONIGHT SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ENCOUNTER HEAVY SNOW
RATES AND REDUCED VISIBILITY.

INCREASING WINDS LATE TONIGHT MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW...MAINLY IN NORTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA FROM LEECH LAKE
TO THE BRAINERD LAKES REGION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS WILL LINGER THROUGH THE DAY TUESDAY RESULTING
IN AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOWFALL...EXCEPT ALONG THE TIP
OF THE MINNESOTA ARROWHEAD WHERE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL
SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED.

SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE DURING THE LATTER HALF OF
THE WEEK FOR THE SNOWBELT AREAS OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. A PROLONGED
PERIOD OF LAKE ENHANCED SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM THURSDAY THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING OVER PORTIONS OF BAYFIELD...ASHLAND...AND
IRON COUNTIES. PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW ARE POSSIBLE EARLY THURSDAY
MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING TRANSITIONING TO LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS
BY FRIDAY MORNING.

MEASUREMENTS OF SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER

STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR
THIS EVENING. THE WIND AND RESULTANT WAVES WILL CREATE CONDITIONS
HAZARDOUS TO SMALLER VESSELS THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON. PLEASE
REFER TO THE LATEST NEARSHORE MARINE FORECAST AND MARINE WEATHER
MESSAGES FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL VEER SOUTHEASTERLY AND EVENTUALLY
NORTHEASTERLY TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. WIND SPEEDS WILL
CONTINUE TO INCREASE TUESDAY AND REMAIN STRONG THROUGH THURSDAY. THE
WIND AND WAVES WILL MAKE NAVIGATION DIFFICULT AND OCCASIONAL GALES
GREATER THAN 35 KNOTS ARE LIKELY.  A GALE WARNING WILL BE IN
EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.  PLEASE
REFER TO THE LATEST NEARSHORE MARINE FORECAST AND MARINE WEATHER
