EXTREME SOUTHEAST CAVALIER COUNTY...

SURVEY SUMMARY: RESULTS FROM THE NWS DAMAGE ASSESSMENT INDICATED AN
EF1 TORNADO OCCURRED SATURDAY AFTERNOON FROM ROUGHLY ONE HALF MILE
NORTH  NORTHWEST OF UNION...ALONG THE WEST EDGE OF UNION...TO AT
LEAST 1 MILES OUTH OF UNION. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH
COTTONWOOD AND OAK TREES ALONG THE PATH...WITH NUMEROUS OAK TRESS
SNAPPED IN A GROVE SOUTH OF TOWN. ONE WOODEN POWER POLE WAS SNAPPED
AND A ROADSIDE YIELD SIGN WAS TWISTED AND BENT. THIS TORNADO WAS ONE
OF MULTIPLE TORNADOES VIEWED BY SPOTTERS LOCATED NEAR EDINBURG.
