...Upgrade to NOAA Weather Radio Broadcasts Coming Soon...

New hardware and software to manage NOAA Weather Radio programming
is being implemented across the country. This new system... called
the Broadcast Message Handler (BMH) is the biggest weather radio
system upgrade since the Console Replacement System came online
nearly 20 years ago.

This new system includes... faster message processing and
delivery... smoother text-to-voice conversions... and full
integration within our Advanced Weather Interactive Processing
System (AWIPS) architecture.

While the actual broadcast messaging will remain largely intact...
you may notice certain messages being read in a different voice.

Meanwhile... weather radio broadcast coverage areas and
Watch or Warning alerting processes will continue as before.

Our office in Grand Forks is scheduled to complete this transition
by August 8th. Please contact Ryan Knutsvig or Greg Gust at 701-772-
0720 if you have any questions or concerns.
